Devlog2: PostMortem


Successes:

We succeeded in meeting the develop requirements.  We collaborated and made a 2D tower defense game with 3 levels.  We successfully created all the sprites, construction sites,  enemies, animations, UI, and the game loop. Also, we dedicated ourselves to create nice visual effects.


Challenges:

The most challenging part of this game is the design of the constructors. The time constraints is also a challenge considering that we're working on this project during the finals weeks. We spent unexpected extra time for integration and implementation. We also spent too much time on creating sprites on our own. Also, the hard part was getting the projectile paths for archers throwing weapons. The animations were difficult to implement where the path of throwing is not all the same.


What we've learned:

From this project, we've learnt about time management and how to collaborate during busy days. In general, we've expanded our knowledge on Xcode and running and building IOS projects. We've learnt how to create HealthBars for enemies using sliders. We also learned how to get the animations work with sprites separated into small parts.


Possible future revisions:

In the future, we would like to polish the level design and create smoother level of difficulty. We would  like to polish the construction and the enemy design to create better user experience. We would also like to create more animations.
